In a significant operation on Saturday night, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) announced that they arrested a total of 10 individuals involved in organized street takeover events across the West Side and other areas in Bexar County.
The police chief, William McManus, expressed his appreciation for the combined efforts of the SAPD, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) in addressing the disruptive trend of street takeovers. In a tweet released on Sunday, he noted the successful efforts saying, “Last night, street takeover groups came to SA and were met by SAPD, DPS, & BCSO.”
The police reported that the operation resulted in minimal disruptions to the community along with several arrests, highlighting a range of misdemeanor and felony charges.
