San Antonio Celebrates Senior Residents with ‘You Matter’ Health Fair

San Antonio – Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran and the District 3 team recently organized a special event to celebrate the senior residents of District 3. The “You Matter” Health Fair, held at the Southside Lions Senior Center, aimed to promote self-love and self-care among the senior population of the community.

Emphasizing Self-Love and Self-Care for Seniors

Councilwoman Viagran highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “Our You Matter Health Fair was for our District 3 beloved seniors who spend their time at our senior centers. Bringing special programming throughout the year reminds them that they are loved.” She emphasized that self-love and self-care play a crucial role in maintaining overall health and happiness among seniors.

Prioritizing Quality of Life for Senior Residents

Viagran emphasized the wealth of experiences and stories that senior residents have to share and stressed the importance of ensuring that they enjoy the best quality of life possible. By promoting the idea of self-love and encouraging seniors to care for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, the event aimed to support the overall well-being of the senior population in District 3.

Encouraging Participation in Senior Centers

Viagran encouraged senior residents to engage with the various programs and activities offered at the senior centers in the community. By participating in such initiatives, seniors can connect with their peers, access resources for health and wellness, and foster a sense of community and belonging.

Promoting Health and Happiness

The “You Matter” Health Fair served as a platform for senior residents to prioritize their health and well-being. Through interactive workshops, health screenings, and informational booths, seniors were able to learn about the importance of self-care and gain practical tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Empowering Senior Residents

By empowering senior residents to take charge of their health and make self-care a priority, the District 3 team aims to support seniors in living their best lives.
