Trial Date for Soto-Guerra Murder Suspects Announced

San Antonio – An announcement was made detailing that the trial date for the suspects linked to the harrowing Soto-Guerra murders has now been scheduled, as the local community awaits justice. District Court 290 has scheduled Christopher Preciado, Ramon Preciado, and Myrta Romanos to appear before the court on May 20, 2024.

Murder of Soto, Guerra, and their Unborn Child

The tragic incident occurred just before midnight on December 21, as Savannah Soto, Matthew Guerra, and their unborn child, Fabian, were found murdered at a separate location before being transported elsewhere. Soto’s family reported her missing the following day, just one day before she was due to deliver at the hospital.

Investigation and Charges

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a CLEAR Alert for Savannah on Christmas Day, detailing the description of Matthew’s 2013 gray Kia Optima. As a result of the alert, a local resident reported sighting a car matching the description given at a Northwest Side apartment complex’s parking lot.

On December 26, both Soto and Guerra were found dead in the gray Kia Optima at the Colinas at Medical Apartments off Danny Kaye Drive. Christopher Preciado, 19, was subsequently arrested and charged with capital murder. Also apprehended was his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, charged with abusing and helping to destroy or conceal a corpse. Myrta Romanos, 47, faces charges of tampering with evidence, altering/destruction/concealing a human corpse, and abuse of a corpse.

Additional Murder Charge

Notably, an additional capital murder charge was filed against Christopher Preciado on March 26 for the death of the unborn child, emphasizing the severity of the crime. The triple murder case has gained significant attention locally as the families of Soto and Guerra fight tirelessly to make sure their loved ones did not die in vain.

Awaiting Justice

With the trial date set, the community looks to the justice system to hold these individuals accountable for their alleged heinous actions that ended the lives of two innocent people and their unborn child. The public will no doubt be watching closely as proceedings develop in this deeply sorrowful case.
