On Tuesday, residents experienced a taste of winter with light snow and sleet making an unusual appearance. Indeed, the frosty weather isn’t pulling any punches, as ice has been reported on cars in the Alta Vista neighborhood!
So, what can you expect in terms of temperatures? As the sun sets, the forecast predicts that temperatures in San Antonio will dive below freezing after 7 p.m., and by 8 p.m., they are projected to reach the upper 20s. Overnight, it will get even colder, with the thermometer likely hitting around 20 degrees.
For our friends in the Hill Country, it might be time to turn up the heat even more, as areas like Kerrville, Fredericksburg, and Boerne could experience temperatures between 15 and 19 degrees. With the white stuff falling from the sky, it’s starting to feel like a winter wonderland!

For the inside of your home, consider using insulation sleeves, heat tape, and even heat lamps for pipes that might not see enough insulation, particularly in attics, garages, and crawl spaces.
Homeowners are encouraged to leave one faucet dripping. This simple trick can help prevent freezing but avoid letting all your faucets flow to relieve pressure on the water system. Trust us; you’ll want to avoid dealing with busted pipes!
