Traffic Woes Hit San Antonio: Multiple Accidents Reported

A series of accidents have been reported across the city, causing significant delays for morning commuters.

Loop 410 Blocked Near Ray Ellison Boulevard

Let’s start with the biggest traffic jam happening on Loop 410 near Ray Ellison Boulevard. This wreck occurred just before 7 a.m. and is affecting the northbound lanes. As it stands, at least one main lane has been shut down, along with the shoulder lane. If you’re traveling in this area, prepare for a long, frustrating wait as images captured by Transguide cameras show a San Antonio Fire Department truck is already on the scene of the accident.

Unfortunately, details about the number of vehicles involved or any potential injuries remain unclear. Traffic monitoring site SigAlert reports that vehicles are crawling at a snail’s pace—some drivers moving as slow as 6 miles per hour. Back-ups extend all the way to Quintana Road, so expect quite a delay if this is part of your morning route.

Another Crash Near Downtown

Highway 90 near I-35, impacting drivers getting into downtown San Antonio. This crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. and currently blocks the westbound connector ramp. Transguide footage shows emergency vehicles on the scene, and while the crash took place on the grassy median, crews need to block some lanes to safely remove the involved vehicle.

Traffic in this area isn’t moving much faster either, with cars inching along at about 9 miles per hour. So if you’re trying to get to downtown, it’s probably best to find another route or give yourself extra time.

Westside Traffic Jam

And if you think things could get any better, there’s yet another crash reported just before 7:10 a.m. off Loop 1604 and Culebra Road. This wreck has blocked at least two westbound lanes, adding to the congestion for drivers heading out in that direction. It’s certainly shaping up to be a busy morning, and we can all agree that it would be best to keep an eye on the traffic updates before you leave.
