Schaefer notes, “This year, it seems like the area they’ve come from got rain, so you can definitely see a difference.” With a little luck from Mother Nature, families can expect some vibrant and healthy pumpkins to choose from.

There’s an understandable concern that the persistent sun could cause pumpkins to rot. “We try to keep a lot of the pumpkins in the shade,” says Schaefer, indicating that precautions are being taken to ensure the pumpkins maintain their quality for those looking to take them home.
But no amount of heat can dampen the spirits of this community! “Oh, no. It doesn’t stop the fun at all,” Schaefer reassures. Both Tennis and Schaefer agree that living in Texas comes with its hot days, and they’ve learned to embrace the fun no matter what.
