A tragic murder-suicide leaves two dead at a North Side apartment complex

The tragic event of apparent murder-suicide that took place at a North Side apartment complex has left two dead. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as Kenya Joy Bland, aged 28, who died from a gunshot wound to the head. Her manner of death has been ruled as homicide.

Meanwhile, the Office also identified a man, Tevin Hall, 30, who was found dead from a gunshot wound to his head. His manner of death has been ruled as suicide.

The Incident

The unfortunate incident occurred at an apartment complex located on the North Side. Authorities came across the gruesome scene of the two deceased bodies while conducting a welfare check in an apartment unit suspected to be the abode of the male suspect. Despite receiving no response from within the apartment, the authorities pressed on.

Failure to gain a response from the occupants of the apartment led to the intervention of a SWAT unit, who after hours of failed attempts at communication, proceeded to enter the apartment. What they encountered was a scene of devastation – the bodies of a man and a woman inside.

Preliminary Investigation

The preliminary findings of the authorities point to a tragic circumstance where the male suspect is believed to have shot the woman before taking his own life. While their exact relationship remains under investigation, it is believed the victims were around late 20s and 30 respectively.
