Woman Injured in Shooting Incident at Traffic Light

Woman Shot Multiple Times Amid Roadside Altercation

San Antonio – In a shocking incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning, a woman in her 40s was shot multiple times by a man during an altercation at a traffic light, the local police reported.

Officers were called around 4:45 a.m. to the scene in Southwest San Antonio after receiving formal notification of a wounded person.

Heated Exchange Ends in Gunfire

According to the reports, a man and a woman in separate cars found themselves at the same traffic light near Ray Ellison Boulevard and Southwest Loop 410. Their encounter soon turned into a heated argument. It was later ascertained that the two had been in the midst of a relationship separation.

As their argument escalated, the man reached for a firearm and discharged several rounds. The woman sustained gunshot wounds in both her arms and a grazing shot at the back of her head. The assailant subsequently fled the scene.

A Race for Survival

In the aftermath of the attack, the injured woman drove herself to the residence of her family in Von Ormy, who immediately contacted local authorities. She was then transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility, where she is expected to make a recovery.

Search for the Perpetrator Continues

As of now, the suspect, a man believed to be in his 50s, remains at large. In response to the incident, both the San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Fire Department alongside EMS teams swiftly arrived at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, as law enforcement pieced together events leading up to the altercation from gathered evidence and witness testimonies. Authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information about the incident to report to local police.
